fast talking high trousers

i think my favorite thing i bought in CT on the thrifstravaganza are these pleated high-water pants.

acne/thrift/dries van noten

they're kinda katherine hepburn via new romantics as worn by an adult ed life drawing class teacher who hits on his lonely female house wife students by inviting them to poetry readings at shitty coffeehouses in the "creative neighborhood" in the adjacent suburb. which, needless to say, is something i try and emulate in all aspects of my life. i've been looking for a pair like this for a while now. it's kinda hard to find good pleated pants at the thrift store because they're usually like suit pants and have a really long crotch and are WAY too voluminous, but something about these i really like. they have a kind of traditional high-waist but at the same time lend themselves to a casual louche-ness which is cool because i'm kinda into looking sleazy lately. also, i like how it looks like i just dropped a deuce into them because the toilet was flooded (which is why i had to cuff the bottoms).
